Spencer Farrar’s Expertise and Accomplishments
Spencer brings over 30 years of experience in national security, corporate development & strategy, and operations management. His diverse background includes 30 years of active and reserve duty as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a Colonel with operational experience in the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Asia-Pacific. His leadership and strategic insights in these regions have been instrumental in shaping impactful solutions to complex challenges.

A Life Shaped by Global Experiences
As the son of a career Foreign Service Officer, Spencer’s early life was marked by travel and exposure to diverse cultures. He grew up in Japan, Germany, Norway, France, and the Washington, D.C. area, shaping his global perspective and fueling his passion for international engagement. Today, Spencer splits his time between New York City and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, reflecting his deep connections to both local and global communities.
Beyond the Professional Sphere
Spencer is an avid marathon and ultra-marathon runner with over 70 races under his belt, including the grueling 165-mile Marathon des Sables race in the Sahara Desert. His resilience and dedication extend beyond running—he also serves as the U.S. Brand Ambassador for the Comrades Marathon in South Africa and is a senior volunteer coordinator for the Ironman World Championships in Kona. His commitment to excellence, both professionally and personally, aligns perfectly with K2’s values.
Spencer holds an undergraduate degree in International Affairs from Lafayette College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management, further solidifying his credentials as a leader in both strategic and technical arenas.
